Purpose‬

 

The mission of Minter Real Estate Training is to provide high-quality real estate education to‬ licensed agents through Post licensing Courses, General and BIC Update Courses, and‬‭ Continuing Education. Our programs are designed to equip real estate professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the industry while meeting the North Carolina Real‭ Estate Commission’s education requirements for license maintenance.‬

Minter Real Estate Training is approved to deliver Post licensing Courses, Continuing Education,‬‭ General Update, and BIC Update Courses through in-person, synchronous distance learning‬ and self-paced formats. For a full list of upcoming courses, please visit our website at‬ minterre.com.‬

 

Education Provider Certification‬

This Education Provider is certified by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. The‬‭ Commission’s address is 1313 Navaho Drive, Raleigh, NC 27609. Any complaints concerning‬ the Education Provider or its affiliated instructors should be directed in writing to the‬ Commission. A link to the Complaint Form is provided on the Commission’s homepage‬‭ (‬‭ncrec.gov‬).‬

 

Per Commission Rule 58H .0204, the Education Provider must provide each prospective‬‭ student with a copy of the Education Provider’s Policies & Procedures Disclosure (PPD) prior to‬‭ payment of any non-refundable tuition or fee. The PPD, which is required by the NC Real Estate‭ Commission, outlines Education Provider policies plus the rights and obligations of the Provider‬ and the student. A signed certification that a student received a copy of the PPD must be‬‭ retained by the Provider.‬

 

‭NO STUDENT SHALL BE DENIED ADMISSION ON THE BASIS OF AGE, SEX, RACE,‬‭ COLOR, NATIONAL ORIGIN, FAMILIAL STATUS, HANDICAPPING CONDITION, OR‬ RELIGION.‬

 

Course Offerings‬

This Education Provider offers the required Post licensing Education Program for provisional‬‭ brokers seeking to remove the provisional status from their licenses, as well as the annual‬ Continuing Education courses necessary to maintain an active real estate license.‬

Continuing Education and Update Courses

Minter Real Estate Training‬‭ is approved to offer‬‭ in-class,‬‭ synchronous distance learning,‬‭ and online continuing education courses‬‭ , including‬‭ the General Update and BIC Update‬ Course. A full course schedule is available on our website at‬‭ Minterre.com‬‭ .‬

 

‭North Carolina State Requirement for Real Estate Continuing Education‬

Renewal Date: 6/30 every year‬

Continuing Education

Deadline: 6/10 every year‬

Hours Required: 8 hours‬

●‬‭ 4 hours – Update hours (General or BIC)‬

●‬‭ 4 hours – Elective hours‬

The deadline for completing CE each license year is June 10‬‭ th‬‭ . No courses will be offered‬‭ between June 11th and June 30th.‬

General Update (GENUP)‬

 

Brokers without BIC Eligible Status must complete the General Update (GENUP) course to fulfill‬‭ four (4) of their required CE credit hours each license year. The course content is prescribed‬ and updated annually by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission (NCREC).‬

Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP)‬

Brokers with BIC Eligible Status must complete the Broker-in-Charge Update (BICUP) course to‬‭ fulfill four (4) of their required CE credit hours each license year. The course content is‬ prescribed and updated annually by NCREC.‬

Attendance & Delivery Formats‬

 

In-Person Learning‬

For in-person courses (General Update, BIC Update, and CE Electives):‬

●‬‭ Course materials will be provided onsite at registration check-in.‬

‭●‬‭ To receive CE credit, brokers must:‬

‭ 1.‬‭ Attend at least 90% of the scheduled instructional hours.‬

‭ 2.‬‭ Provide their legal name and license number to the education provider.‬

‭ 3.‬‭ Present their pocket card or valid photo identification at check-in.‬

Live Stream / Synchronous Distance Learning‬

 

For synchronous online courses:‬

●‬‭ Attendance is tracked using monitoring software. Students must:‬

‭ 1.‬‭ Log in 15 minutes prior to class start time to confirm audio and video.‬

‭ 2.‬‭ Keep cameras on during the entire class to be counted as present.‬

‭ 3.‬‭ Maintain reliable internet access—any disconnected time will count against‬

‭ attendance.‬

‭Attendance is verified via detailed session reports generated at the end of the course. Digital‬ course materials are available at‬‭ Minterre.com‬‭ .‬

Self-Paced Online (Distance) Learning‬

Per Commission Rule 58H .0404(c):‬

●‬‭ Students must complete the course within 30 days of registration or the date access to‬ materials is granted (whichever is later).‬

●‬‭ Description: This course provides real estate professionals with practical guidance on‬ recognizing potential red flags during property inspections, including structural issues,‬ environmental hazards, asbestos, hazardous vegetation, and more. Students learn how‬ to identify warning signs, understand potential causes, and respond according to‬ industry standards. A glossary of key terms is provided.‬

Completion Certificate Requirements (Per NCREC Rule 58A .1705)‬

‭ To receive credit for any approved CE course, a broker must:‬

‭ A Broker Post licensing student must already possess a North Carolina Real Estate Broker‬ license prior to registration.‬

Post 301 – Brokerage Relationships and Responsibilities‬

– (30 instructional hours)‬

Topics addressed in this course include a review of agency relationships in real estate‬ residential and commercial sales and commercial property management transactions, a real‬ estate broker’s legal duties to clients and customers, a step-by-step review and discussion of‬‭ the functions and responsibilities of a real estate broker when working with sellers and buyers, a‬ review of issues associated with transactions in progress when a broker leaves a firm, and a‬ review of license status and education issues.‬

 

‭Post 302 – Contracts and Closing‬

– (30 instructional‬‭ hours)‬

Topics addressed in this course include selected basic contract law concepts, real estate sales‬‭ contract preparation, sales contract procedures, buyer’s due diligence, closing procedures, Real‬

‭Estate Settlement Procedures Act, closing disclosure preparation, contracts for deed, options,‬‭ and selected real estate license status and education issues.‬

Post 303 – NC Law, Rules, and Legal Concepts‬

– (30‬‭ instructional hours)‬

Topics addressed in this course include general NC licensing requirements, brokerage‬‭ compensation issues, the disciplinary process, specialized types of real estate, property‬ management in NC, and miscellaneous laws and legal concepts.‬

The Education Provider DOES NOT allow a student to use the online versions of the NC Real‬

Estate Manual and NC License Law & Commission Rules booklet during classes.‬

 

End-of-Course Exam‬

For the In-Person, Post licensing courses, the end-of-course exam will be administered by the‬‭ NC Instructor by a written exam at Minter Real Estate Training Facility, located at 2010 S. Tryon‬ Street, Suite D, Charlotte, NC 28203 on the last scheduled day of the course.‬

 

‭For Synchronous (live online) Distance delivery (self-paced online) course and Blended course‬‭ formats, the end-of-course exam will be administered through online proctoring. You’ll need two‬ internet-connected devices with cameras: One device (such as a laptop, desktop, or tablet) will‬ be used to take the exam.and the second device (such as a smartphone) will be used to monitor‬ your testing environment. Students will have 3 days to schedule the online proctor after the last‬ scheduled day of the course.‬

 

An end-of-course exam will not be administered to any student who does not satisfy the course‬‭ attendance requirement.‬

 

Students are not permitted to bring laptops, tablets, cell phones, or similar electronic devices‬‭ (other than a basic calculator) into the testing site on the day of an exam. Any student who‬ brings such a device into the testing site on the day of an exam will be required to remove it‬‭ before the exam begins.‬

‭‭

Per Rule 58H .0207(b), a course must be completed (including successful passing of the‬‭ end-of-course exam) and a completion certificate must be provided within 180 days of course‬ enrollment.‬

Missed Exam‬

For the In-Person, Synchronous (live online), and Blended delivery courses, the Education‬‭ Provider WILL allow a Broker Postlicensing Course student who does not take the initial‬ end-of-course exam as scheduled to take a makeup exam at a time and date stated by the‬ Education Provider, but no later than 180 days from enrollment.‬

 

‭For the Distance delivery (self-paced online) course, the Education Provider WILL allow a‬‭ Broker Post licensing Course student who does not take their initially scheduled end-of-course‬ exam to reschedule another exam attempt. The student must attempt and pass the exam within‬ 180 days of enrollment.‬

Failed Exam‬

For the In-Person, Synchronous (live online), and Blended delivery courses, the Education‬‭ Provider WILL allow a Broker Post licensing Course student who takes but does not pass the‬ initial end-of-course exam to retake the exam (1) one time at no charge within a period of (12)‬ twelve months from the beginning of the initial course. The student must attempt and pass the‬ exam within 180 days of enrollment.‬

 

‭For a Distance delivery (self-paced online) course, the Education Provider WILL allow a Broker‬‭ Post licensing Course student who does not pass their initial attempt of the end-of-course exam‬ to retake the exam (1) one time at no charge within a period of (12) twelve months from the‬ beginning of the initial course. The student must attempt and pass the exam within 180 days of‬ enrollment.‬

Attendance in a Minter Real Estate Training class does not guarantee passage of any exams.‬ Failure of the student to master the content and possess sufficient knowledge and skill to pass‬‭ the examinations does not entitle the student to a refund. Any retakes will be scheduled by the‬‭ Education Provider, but no later than 180 days from enrollment.‬

 

Eligibility Requirements for Course Completion Certificate‬

To successfully complete a Broker Post licensing Course and receive a course completion‬‭ certificate, a student must:‬

‭ a.) meet attendance requirements,‬

‭ b.) timely submit completed in-class and take-home assignments, and‬

‭ c.) pass the end-of-course exam with a minimum score of 75%.‬

Any Broker Post licensing Course must be completed (including passing the exam) within 180‬‭ days of enrollment.‬

Payment Policy‬

●‬‭ Exam Proctoring (for online postlicensing courses only):‬‭ No additional fee when‬ using Minter-approved proctoring method. Students using third-party proctoring services‬ may incur additional fees directly through the provider.‬

General Information‬

Registration‬

‭Students can register for classes either through advertised offerings or directly via the school‬‭ link on the website,‬‭ Minterre.com‬‭ .‬

 

Attendance‬

‭Students in an in-person or synchronous distance learning Broker Postlicensing Course must‬‭ attend a minimum of 90% of all scheduled instructional hours.‬

‭Early departures from CE courses delivered in-person or via synchronous distance learning are‬ prohibited by Rule 58A .1705.‬‭ Attendance will be closely monitored, including late arrivals and early departures from class‬ sessions and from all scheduled breaks, during in-person and synchronous distance learning‬‭ courses. All time missed will be recorded for each student.‬

 

Technology Requirements for Online Courses‬

‭Students enrolled in one of our Synchronous course offerings may only access the course using‬ a desktop or laptop computer. A webcam and microphone are also required. Any students‬ connecting to the class through a mobile device will be disconnected. Students will need to‬ download and install the most recent version of Zoom and ensure all hardware and software are‬‭ working prior to the start of class.‬

Students must be in a well-lit room so they are visible on camera and must remain on camera at‬ all times during instruction. Students are not permitted to connect from a vehicle and will be‬‭ removed from the course immediately.‬

‭Hardware and Software Requirements‬

‭To successfully complete online courses (including Synchronous Distance Learning and‭ Self-Paced formats), students must have access to the following equipment:‬

Additional Device Requirement for Proctored Exams‬

For courses requiring an end-of-course exam with online proctoring (e.g., Post licensing‬ courses), students must also have access to a‬‭ second‬‭ internet-connected device‬‭ with a‬

‭ camera (such as a smartphone or tablet).‬

Student Conduct‬

Students are expected to maintain professional and respectful behavior in all classes.‬

‭Inappropriate conduct—as determined by the instructor or staff—may result in dismissal without‬‭ recourse if it is disruptive, unprofessional, or reflects negatively on the school.‬

Classroom & Behavior Expectations‬

●‬‭ Dress Code: Comfortable, but appropriate attire is expected.‬

●‬‭ Prohibited Items: No weapons, smoking, or vaping is allowed on school premises.‬

 

Exam Procedures & Confidentiality‬

● Cheating or exam misconduct will be reported to the NC Real Estate Commission‬ (NCREC).‬

● Exam content is strictly confidential and will not be accessible for review after‬ completion.‬

●‬‭ All exams must be completed within 180 days of course registration, per NCREC Rule‬‭ 58H .0207(a).‬

NCREC Examination Rules (21 NCAC 58A .0404 & .0405)‬

‭When taking a real estate license examination, students must adhere to strict exam security‬ regulations, including but not limited to:‬

 

Prohibited Actions:‬

●‬‭ Cheating, receiving assistance, or using unauthorized notes.‬

●‬‭ Communicating with anyone other than the exam supervisor.‬

●‬‭ Using unauthorized devices (e.g., smartwatches, electronic notes).‬

●‬‭ Bringing personal items (wallets, bags, or materials) into the exam area.‬

●‬‭ Attempting to remove any exam materials or information.‬

●‬‭ Failing to comply with exam supervisor instructions.‬

‭‭

Violations May Result In:‬

●‬‭ Immediate dismissal from the exam.‬

●‬‭ Score invalidation and forfeiture of exam fees.‬

●‬‭ Denial of a real estate license or disciplinary action if already licensed.‬

 

‭Licensing examinations are strictly confidential. No student or licensee may attempt to obtain,‭ share, or communicate exam questions or answers. Violations may result in license denial or‬ disciplinary action by the NC Real Estate Commission.‬

Cheating‬

If a student is discovered to be cheating in any manner, the student will be immediately‬‭ dismissed, will receive a failing course grade, will not be eligible for any retake or makeup‬ policies, and will be reported to the NC Real Estate Commission [per Commission Rule 58H‬‭ .0203(h)].‬

‭‭

Course Cancellation or Rescheduling / Refunds‬

‭Minter Real Estate Training reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any course as needed. If‬‭ a course must be canceled or rescheduled, we will make every effort to provide notice at least‬ 24 hours in advance‬‭ of the scheduled start time.‬

‭In the event a course is canceled or rescheduled by the Education Provider, enrolled students‬ will have the following options:‬

●‬‭ Transfer to a later date or a different course offering‬

●‬‭ Receive a full refund‬

●‬‭ Apply the payment as a credit toward a future course‬

 

‭Students who wish to cancel their registration may do so and receive a full refund or request to‬‭ transfer to another course‬‭ if notice is given at least‬‭ 24 hours before the class begins‬‭ . No‬ refunds or transfers will be issued for cancellations made less than 24 hours before the class‬‭ start time.‬

 

Withdrawals and Transfers / Refunds‬

‭ A student may withdraw from a course by giving written notice to the Education Provider prior to‬‭ the start of the course. In such event, the student will have the following options:‬

Withdrawals:‬

●‬‭ A full refund will be issued if the student withdraws at least 24 hours before the class‬ begins.‬

● ‬‭No refunds will be issued for withdrawals made less than 24 hours before the class start‬‭ time or for no-shows.‬

Transfers:‬

●‬‭ Students may transfer their registration to a different course date or delivery format (if‬ available) at no additional cost, provided the request is made at least 24 hours prior to‬ the original class start time.‬

●‬‭ Transfer requests made less than 24 hours before class are not guaranteed and may be‬ subject to denial.‬

‭ Refunds:‬

●‬‭ Refunds for eligible withdrawals will be processed using the original form of payment‬ within 7–10 business days.‬

●‬‭ Refunds are not available for students who begin a course but do not complete it.‬

All requests for withdrawals, transfers, or refunds must be submitted in writing via email to‬ karen.minterre@gmail.com or by contacting the Education Provider, Karen Minter at‬‭ 980-949-1770.‬

Signed Certification of Receipt must be collected by the education provider and retained in your‬‭ records for at least 3 years.‬
